Philip Merritt, MD

Co-Founder, Chairman of the Board, Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Merritt is the Medical Director of the Orthopedic Institute at Adventist Health Glendale. His practice focus is adult reconstruction and has performed more the 10,000 hip and knee replacements. He is a graduate of the the University of Southern California Medical School (where he was also a orthopedic resident), a Diplomat of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and was twice voted Teacher of the Year at the USC Department of Orthopedics. Dr. Merritt has collaborated with several orthopedic technology market leaders in the development of advanced joint replacement systems including Zimmer-Biomet, Stryker Corporation, and Enovis. He was also a co-founder and clinical advisor of medical device businesses focused in operating room protective technologies, including the Neptune waste management system and the Flyte facial shield, both acquired and successfully commercialized by Stryker Corporation.
